This is a follow-on course from the Puppy Foundation course. The next step before Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze award.

Life skills is giving your dog the skills they need to live in today’s society. We will also teach you tricks and scent work that will help you and your dog to have fun together!

Some examples of life skills:

Going on a pleasant walk

Settling at home

Not to steal food!

Not to bark at visitors

To attend this class-

Puppies will need to have attended the Puppy course with us on Tuesday or Thursday evenings. Older dogs will be assessed for their suitability to attend this class.

Regrettably, dogs with aggression problems towards other dogs and/or people cannot take part in these classes. If your dog does have a problem with other dogs or people please contact us to discuss your problem.


As there is no such things as a ‘dog poo fairy” a person must carry with them some form of “poop scoop” of bag. It is a legal requirement to clean up after your dog in public areas and dispose of the bag in an appropriate bin.

Micro-chipping/identity Your dog must be micro-chipped and wear a collar with identification tag, badge, or plate attached (with owners name and address) as required by the Dangerous Dogs Act 2016.
